5 days beautiful trip in Arusha Tanzania with Kipe Adventures We booked a 5-day tour with Kipe Adventures during which we explored Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater in the first two days. We stayed in a mix of hotel /lodges which ranged from budgeted to luxury and every stay which was arranged for us was really nice Remaining days were dedicated to immersing ourselves in the local culture and meeting some of the world's rarest tribes like hadzabe and what an amazing day spent hunting with them From the moment we arrived in Arusha until we departed, Kipe ensured that every detail was taken care of. We highly recommend booking with him, as having an experienced driver & knowledgeable guide is essential, and he possesses all the qualities needed for an exceptional & safe experience. On the final day, he took us to his village, which was a delightful experience not to be missed. We visited the school which he has built from his revenue , met his family and we were greeted and treated with so much warmth & love .They truly made us feel like home.

A wonderfully, diverse and family-friendly safari, highlighted by a personal and enriching Maasai village visit. Kipe masterfully organized our trip, accommodating a diverse group that included young children, seniors, and adults. Every aspect of the journey was meticulously planned and thoroughly enjoyable for my family & friends. To cater to our unique needs, we were provided an additional guide, ensuring a seamless experience and immediate support for any unforeseen situations. The highlight of our adventure was the visit to the Maasai village. The heartfelt encounter with Kipe's family added a deeply personal touch to our safari. I wholeheartedly recommend Kipe for an exceptional and memorable safari experience.

A once in a lifetime experience We spent five days with Kipe's Adventures in Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. We had a wonderful experience and saw a lot during our trips. We were amazed by the Tanzanian hospitality and enjoyed sleeping in the tents and listening to the sounds around us at night. All of Kipe's team were amazing and we also want to thank Manfred and Samuel again for the great time in Tanzania. On our last day, Kipe showed us his home village with a warm welcome ceremony from his family, delicious lunch (a local dish), dancing, and tea. Anyone interested in the way of life of the local Masai tribe should not miss out on this experience. Besides organizing safari tours, Kipe also runs an NGO and has already built a school for his community where we were able to meet and connect with young students, sing with them, and have a great time together. We are very grateful for this unique experience and will always have fond memories of our time in Tanzania.

Excellent experience in Tanzania My husband and I spent 3 weeks in Tanzania in October. My husband climbed Kilimanjaro, we visited Materuni waterfall, coffee farm in Materuni village, Duluti lake, Arusha national park walking safari, Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire national park, all organized by kipe adventures. The organization was at a very high level, all accommodations were excellent, guides and drivers as well. In addition Kipe and his family hosted us for 2 days in their Maasai village Oltukai. It was a wonderful experience, as was our entire stay in Tanzania. I would definitely recommend Kipe Adventures for everything you want to see and experience in Tanzania.

Unforgettable Serengeti Safari and Maasai Village Stay Kipe is a real Maasai Warrior and was a wonderful host. He took care of my family as he would his family. We did a 4 day high end Safari. We took his basic itinerary and adjusted it with our wishes such as seeing the wildebeest great migration. We saw a great crossing over the Mara River. We also wanted to add hot air ballooning. The whole experience was unforgettable. The accommodations were very comfortable, it was glamping more then camping. Food was very tasty. For our last night we were given the option to visit Kipe’s home village. We had the opportunity to experience real authentic Maasai way of life. We appreciate Kipe for his care and attention and welcoming us into his home.

Amazing visit to Tanzania with a Maasai host Our first trip to Africa, and we didn’t know how to choose. All of the reviews online for all of the safari operators seemed great - and to be honest, I suspect they all are. So much of the safari industry is standardized… with similar jeeps, tent camps, hot lunches regardless of which “operator” you choose. But ultimately ended up picking Kipe, and we’re so glad we did. He was able to give us an experience above and beyond. First, the basics - he’s detail oriented, flexible, and made sure our booking went exactly as we hoped. Beyond that, his understanding of service was great… he waited until 2:30 AM for our flight, drove us personally to a local Airbnb for the evening… The safari itself was excellent, we flew to the Mara region and saw the wildebeest migration, saw 4 of the big 5 within 24 hours. The hot air balloon is not to be missed, it is magical. But what makes it really special is who he is as a person, and a special activity we got to enjoy at the end. He is a true Maasai warrior (not just a tour guide who dressed up as one), and the first in his village to attend university / speak English. He is building his business in part to support his community, and has already helped build a preschool for 20 kids in their home village. We spent our last night staying in the village with his parents, grandparents, siblings…. A very special experience to be part of the Maasai family.

A GUIDE TO CLIMBING KILIMANJARO

How high is Kilimanjaro?

Once you have reached the summit, you will be standing 5,895m or 19,340 feet high as Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. By comparison, Everest’s highest peak is 8,848m above sea level. It is also commonly known as the roof of Africa, as it towers over East Africa and the whole continent for that matter. It is so big, that if you stand at the bottom, you usually can’t really see it…

Where is Kilimanjaro?

Kilimanjaro, unless climbed, is actually quite difficult to see in Tanzania. For the best view, hop over to Kenya’s Amboseli National Park (if you can handle the crowds) for that iconic Kili backdrop view. If you are lucky, you will spot it on a plane from Nairobi, as it is situated on the Tanzania/Kenya border to the East of Arusha. It is easily accessible once in Tanzania to begin your climb…

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro Cost

There are two choices when beginning to think about climbing Kilimanjaro – whether to go on a fixed departure climb with a group, or to go on a private climb. Per person, the fixed departure dates begin at around $2,500 per person. Private climbs vary depending on how many climbers you are, and also which route.

If you are a group of more than 2, it could even be better value to do a private climb, but please do let us know and we can do the maths for you. We do not choose the cheapest operator, but one we have been working with for 20 years and trust wholly to take the best care of our clients.

How long does it take to climb Kilimanjaro?

This does depend on the route, but the fastest assent can take 4 nights, though most people take 6-8 nights depending on the route

The best time to climb Kilimanjaro: Mount Kilimanjaro Weather

March to the end of May is the wet season on Mount Kilimanjaro and not a great time for trekking. The rest of the year is good though with the absolute peak season being similar to the best game viewing from July through to the end of October. After all, you want to be in with a chance of catching your summit on a clear day to get an amazing view from the highest point in Africa.

Overall mountaineering fitness required

Although it is possible to simply trek a route to the pinnacle of Kili without relying on professional climbing equipment, it remains a hard and serious endeavor that requires a level of physical fitness, stamina, and a realistic awareness of the potentially damaging effects of high altitudes.  Many tour operators request that clients consult a doctor before attempting to scale the mountain, and have a physical check-up for overall fitness.

Tanzania safari extensions

Having gone all the way to climb Kilimanjaro, most climbers choose to extend their trip with a Tanzanian safari or even some beach time in Zanzibar or on the mainland coast. It is the perfect way to round off the African holiday of a lifetime.
